Founded in 1983, Tri-County Behavioral Healthcare is one of the 39 Community Centers in Texas that provides services to persons with mental illnesses and intellectual/developmental disabilities to all of the 254 counties in the state. Tri-County is a unit of local government sponsored by the Commissioners Courts of Liberty, Montgomery, and Walker Counties, and is funded primarily through billing for insurance and contracts with the Health and Human Services Commission. Service locations are in Conroe, Cleveland, Huntsville, Liberty and Porter.
Our mission is to enhance the quality of life for those we serve and our communities by ensuring the provision of quality services for individuals with mental illness, substance use disorders, and intellectual/developmental disabilities.
Our vision is to develop a mental health and developmental disabilities care system with adequate resources that ensures the provision of effective and efficient services to meet the need of our community. To achieve our vision, we will partner with the community to expand the availability of new and existing resources and assure the availability of technically and culturally competent staff.
Tri-County Behavioral Healthcare is now recognized as a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) by the State of Texas. CCBHCs are designed to provide integrated, culturally sensitive treatment and recovery support for adults and families with behavioral health needs, trauma and chronic disease.
